Why "9·6·3"? You'll see those numbers around TeslaCoder. Nikola Tesla was famously fixated on the number three — he did everything in threes, and lived out his last years in room 3327. Nine, six, three. It's a wink, not a claim.
What this is, and what it isn't.
I'm Brian. Fort Worth, Texas. In August 2025 I asked Claude how to make Photoshop run faster — I was a 3D design and CAD guy who'd never written a line of code. I kept asking questions. Ten months later I was shipping Cloudflare Workers.
TeslaCoder came out of a real problem: I could describe exactly what I wanted a machine to do, but I couldn't spell it in PowerShell. So I built the translator I needed. It got used every day for months across five machines before it ever saw daylight.
This is not an AI agent. It doesn't run on your computer, doesn't have access to your files, and can't execute anything. It writes text and hands it to you. That limitation is deliberate — it's why you can safely use it on a work laptop, and why there's nothing to install.
It's free because I'd rather it get used than gate it. A bigger Pro version is coming; if you want it when it drops, get on the list. And if the free one saves you an evening of searching Stack Overflow, a tip on Ko-fi keeps me building.
Straight answers.
Does it send my data anywhere?
No. There is no server. The app makes zero network calls — your keys, paths and saved commands live in your own browser's local storage and never leave the machine. You can verify it: disconnect from the internet and it still works.
Can it run commands for me?
No, and that's on purpose. TeslaCoder writes the command and explains it. You paste it into your own terminal when you're satisfied it does what you want. Nothing happens without you.
Is it really all free?
Yes. The web version and the offline copy are both free during this early release. The only thing I ask for the offline copy is your name and email — so I can tell you when the paid Pro version is ready. A tip on Ko-fi is welcome but never required.
What will the Pro version add?
More languages, deeper templates and some features that take real work to maintain. It'll be a small one-time price. Everyone on the free list hears about it first. This free build stays free.
Which shells and languages does it handle?
PowerShell, Bash, zsh and Python today, on Windows, macOS and Linux. More languages and a non-English interface are the next things on the list.
Do I need a Claude or OpenAI account?
Not for the built-in commands. For open-ended questions, TeslaCoder preps the prompt and hands it to whichever assistant you already use — bring your own, free tier is fine.
